aka having fun on a budget!
1. Gather supplies:
(we bought the firewood and chocolate. Everything else we already owned!)
2. Start a fire:
3. Roast marshmallows and make smores:
4. Enjoy the time with your family and then spend the night in the tent!

July 2008
July was a crazy month for us!! It was mostly consumed by vacation - getting ready, being there, and coming home and getting back to the real world!
Pre-Vacation had us:
in a parade:
Poor daddy had to walk while we are rode!
the end of softball season:
party at the ice cream shop!
In addition, we continues to bake, cook, can, garden, play, read, and play piano.
And then there was vacation:

And then there was vacation:
Traveling by train:
(the girls in the upper bed of the room on the way there)
S'mores:
daddy kissing a sweet boy's messy face!
Playing Games:
(Setting up for Fill or Bust - which everyone should get!)
Seeing Thomas:
Looking at the model railroad that daddy helped build in his late teens:
Playing in the sand:
Kayaking:
Swimming:
Skipping rocks:
Reading:
Boating:
Lobsters:
Hanging out:
Water Skiing:
Sleeping:
And of course, it was just plain beautiful out there:

June 2008
This has been for us an incredibly busy month full of lots of fun things!!
softball
big haircuts for the girls
before:
after:
lots of drawing on our new easel
Happy Father's Day
swimming
The girls start piano lessons
softball
baking
making jam
more softball
cleaning out the toys
playing at the park
going to the 1890's farm to do some chores!
More softball
lots of reading
gardening
All in all, it's been quite a busy month for us. Softball has taken up much of our time - but it's been fun and worth it. Miss A has definitely improved a lot this season too!
The girls went into piano lessons just to "try it out." Neither thought that they would actually enjoy it. Turns out, they both love it, and Mr. C thinks he should take lessons too. Despite only knowing 5 notes so far, Miss A has already composed her very own song, of which she is quite proud.
We have managed to visit quite a few local places we have never been before and have had a lot of fun visiting them! We also are exploring the parks in our town (thanks in part to a contest the town is running!)
So far, summer has been a lot of fun and we have been keeping quite busy.
Next month sees us doing much of the same, although softball will be ending soon. Also, we have our big trip out East next month, which none of us can wait for. We have berry picking planned, more reading, the girls are requesting to learn some handwork and we will continue on with piano, parks, museums and baking!
Also, don't forget I have another blog that I write more frequently in as well:
