Fire Station!

Last weekend we went to a fire station open house. Sadly, only the two youngest and mom went because dad and Miss A had to work.

Anyway, I heard about the open house and thought it was going to be small, quick, fun. Oh no. It was big - lots of people, booths, give-aways, SWAG, even free lunch for all of us. They even had little fire outfits for the kids to put on and try out some of the fireman's duties.






They even got to help spray a real hose - so fun!

They also took a car apart to demonstrate how they do that - even I was mesmerized watching! It was kind of neat (of course I do hope that I never have to see it outside of a demonstration again!)





We also spent time exploring inside and outside a couple firetrucks and an ambulance. One of the more fun things we did was take all sorts of pictures of the everything and then we came home and created a collage of the pictures. I can't wait for it to arrive so we can hang it up! =)

Blink.

Sometimes it feels like a year goes by in just the blink of an eye. Of course, it doesn't happen like that. But life does happen and so sometimes a year flashes by and a blog doesn't get updated in that time.

Ahem.

Yes, it's been a year. Actually 13 months since I was last here. Don't worry though, I've been neglecting all my blogs this year =) It just goes that way sometimes!

So for fun, just a few shots of the kiddos. Because I could try to go into detail about the past year, but instead just a few pictures should be good for now =)

Happy Birthday!!

Someone had a birthday today! Miss M turned 7 years old! Time is flying by, at least for this momma!





I think one of the reasons she loves her birthday so much is the phone calls she gets =)

All in all, a great day! I can't believe another year has passed. She is growing much to quickly in my opinion. Sometimes, I wish I could pause. Or that I had at least taken more pictures to remember these days with.

Indiana Beach!

We took a trip to Indiana Beach and had a ton of fun! =)

All three kids loved this ride. It was ridden multiple times. What cracks me up is Miss M's face - it looks like she's completely terrified, but she said she loved it and kept going on it!


Bumper cars were a big hit!


I think though, little man enjoyed it most of all! =)

Oh man, she is trying to fast forward to adulthood. I love that she's ready to do things alone. And yet, I also hate it!

Local Nature Center

Today we spent quite some time over at a local nature center. We've been to a few near our house, but this was a first at this one. We had such a great time there, walking on the paths - and there were so many to take. We walked around for about 3 hours! We saw lots of birds and butterflies, heard many rustlings in the grasses around us, and were lucky enough to spot on rabbit!

There was also a small farm in the area that we spent a little bit of time at. Most of it was closed up while we were there though, so that was a bummer!

The Race Track ...

Daddy took the kids over to the local race track on a Sunday afternoon. Before anyone gets nervous, Sunday is family day over there and they had a lot of fun!



The kids took turns picking out who to bet on. Amazingly enough, they made a few dollars while they were there too!



But really the kids had a great time just watching the horses!

Painting Fun

Inspired by a new book mom got over the summer (The Creative Family by Amanda Blake Soule - which I highly highly recommend) we painted some shirts this summer.







And how gorgeous did these shirts turn out?



We all think they look fabulous! And the kids are already asking when we get to do it again! =)

Long time no post ...

It's been busy. I never know if anyone checks it (HINT: If you are reading this, please leave a comment saying hi! It's great motivation for me to keep adding things to the blog!) but I know occasionally some people do, so for those folks, here's some updates!

Softball season ended and the trophy this year is pretty neat!


The kids all attended VBS at the local church. Crazy hair day was fun for the girls (the little man didn't participate in it though LOL!)



He did however need to get his hair trimmed this summer (it grows SO fast!) He does not like it one bit. He tolerates (barely) me using scissors on his head. The buzzer is out, which is a shame because that would be 10 times easier and faster!

Game Ball

In the softball game last week, my daughter recieved the game ball from her coach. This is quite an honor and she was so proud! =)
